May 30, 1969. Army SSgt. Kenneth R. Gregory POW found alive.


Taken as a Prisoner of War on August 25, 1968. After spending 271 days in captivity, Sgt Gregory escaped from his captors on May 22, 1969, and was found alive 12 miles north northwest of Tay Ninh City. He was spotted on a bamboo jungle trail by a 1st Cavalry Division helicopter crew.

 (Original Caption) SAIGON-6/1/69-: Army Sgt. Kenneth Gregory, 23, of Altus, Oklahoma, arrives at the 3rd field hospital in Saigon to begin out-processing for his trip back to the USA later today. Sgt. Gregory was captured by the VC near Tay Ninh 9 months ago and escaped 5/30.
