It was announced the USA's Americal Division (23rd Infantry
Division) will be reorganized, effective 15 Feb 1969, to standardize it along
the same lines as the 1st, 4th, and 25th Infantry Divisions. The Americal
Division, which was activated in South Vietnam on 25 September 1967, is comprised
ot the 11th, 196th, and 198th light Infantry battalions which were deployed to South Vietnam
